THE AUTOMATED TELLER MACHINE: YOUR ROLE

Dear Someone,

In as much as the world is filled with fraudsters and the safety is very slim; it is also our responsibilities to take charge and be vigilant at all times whenever we are out there.

Below are some safety precautions when using the ATM:

§        1.  Always inspect the ATM for skimming devices before slotting in your card. DO NOT use an ATM if you notice any foreign device attached to it.

§       2.      Before you start your transaction, look behind you to confirm there is a reasonable distance between you and the next person in line.

§       3.   Always use your hands or body to block other people’s ability to see while entering your PIN on the keypads when using the ATM.

§        4.  Be mindful of assistance from strangers at the ATM terminal. They could be fraudsters trying to switch debit cards or get the PIN details of your debit card. If you need any assistance, please call on the Bank’s Security Personnel on standby.

§      5.  Be cautious of odd hours when using the ATM terminal (especially at Night). If you must use the ATM during such hours, please make sure the ATM gallery is well-lit and the neighborhood is safe.
